Mary Jo Maxfield (Manocchio)

Mary Jo Manocchio of Mansfield passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at the age of 60. She was born May 24, 1960, in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was a 1978 graduate of Madison High School, received her Bachelor Degree from Baldwin Wallace University, and her Master Degree from Marygrove College. While at Baldwin Wallace, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and served as past President. Reading was a passion Mary Jo possessed and she shared this love with her many students at Crestview Elementary School where she taught for 21½ years. Mary Jo loved children and immensely enjoyed teaching her students. She was an active member within the Crestview community.

Mary Jo was a member of the Garden Club where she also was a past President. She was a devoted and active member of St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Spending time at their lake condo was one of her favorite pastimes as was walking with her friends. Most of all, she relished the time spent in the company of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spoiling them with her delicious cookies. Mary Jo treasured her time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tony Manocchio Sr.; four children, Tony (Brooke) Manocchio Jr., Andrew (Renee) Manocchio, Sr., Katie Manocchio and Nicholas Manocchio; seven grandchildren, Isabella, Luca, Noah, and Ava, Gianna, Andrew Jr., Dominic; mother, Carol Dahn Maxfield; four siblings, Patricia (Dan) Jacobs, Harold (Sharon) Maxfield, Jr., Susan Sanders and Katherine (George) Stohrer; in-laws, Marco and Elena Manocchio Sr; sister-in-law, Mary Rauhe; two brothers-in-law, Marco (Robin) Manocchio Jr. and John (Amanda) Manocchio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her father, Hal Maxfield, Sr.; and niece and God-daughter, Emily Sanders.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church, 1630 Ashland Road with Rev. Father Matthew Frisbee officiating. She will be laid to rest in Prince of Peace Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Crestview Elementary School or St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church.
